Samantha Antoinette started singing professionally over 35 years ago and has enjoyed singing Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Motown & Pop music.
As a founding member of The London Community Gospel Choir she performed with them for a number of years back in the 80’s
“I have so many fond, unforgettable memories of working with a plethora of amazing top celebrities and artists, providing backing vocals sometimes as part of a trio or as part of a backup choir including being amongst LCGC’s top lead singers.”
Her Unforgettable Moment
During her time with LCGC, Samantha-Antoinette recalls being commended by The Late “Luther Vandross”, in rehearsal for his show at The Royal Albert Hall where she was performing with the choir for a live album recording called “An Evening Of Songs”, during the rehearsal period, the singers were asked to sing individually, on hearing Samantha’s voice, “Vandross” said to one of his backing singers – “SHE HAS A GREAT TONE”!
A fantastic endorsement and fond memory Samantha-Antoinette will NEVER forget!
This spurred Samantha on, she made a choice to step out and go it alone, it was the right decision her career expanded to international touring with artists such as Depeche Mode, Jamiroquai, George Michael, Blur to name just a few. Musical theatre came calling where she had leading roles in Porgy and Bess, the Colour Purple, Been So Long, Dancing and Singing The Blues (German production). Then the door to commercials opened wide, clients like Burger King, Discovery Credit Card wanted her distinctive vocals.
Samantha loves the Blues a few years ago she teamed up with Danish band The Chargers, together they tour Europe regularly.
